Looking for Fuel Industries old Library Items Flash Extension

So...way back in the day, Julian Dolce from Fuel Industries used to have this totally awesome extension for the Flash IDE that would let you change the properties more than one library item at a time. So today, I'm on my new computer at work, and realize I could really, really use this extension.  I search the Google for it over and over with all sorts of search terms, but can't find it anywhere. Weird.

So I realized I have it on my old computer. I go to my old computer and try to open a path to a shared folder on my new computer so I can copy it over. And as the computer is trying to access my new computer, KABOOOM! Blue Screen of Death. Except this particular BSOD said something about a memory dump at the end. Awesome. So I restart...nothing. Power down and power up again. Nothing. Awesome! I'm guessing the MB is dead as the BIOS doesn't even load up. Wonderful.

I don't have the time to pull out the hard drive and try and salvage the files, so my question to any and all of you out there that use the Flash IDE, do you have this extension? I'm desperate! I'm not sure what I will do in return if you have this extension, but I'll try and think of something.

  1. Matt,

I’ve got a copy that I keep on my server. Drop me an email.

  2. I used to use that thing too, but lost it, myself, long ago. Fortunately, it’s not that difficult to re-create, so I whipped one up for the both of us (haven’t tested in anything but Flash CS3). You can download it here: http://www.onebyonedesign.com/downloads/OBO_Bitmap_Editor.zip Can’t remember if it does everything the Fuel version used to do, but it does what I used it for (quality settings). There’s no fancy .mxp, but all you have to do is drop the .swf in your WindowSWF directory and restart Flash. Hope it helps you out..

  3. I know it’s easier through panel but JSFL does it simple, it’s JavaScript for Flash

you can write simple JSFL script to change anything in your library, from bitmap compression type to export class and so on…

easy and fast, I really love it

  5. I know this is post is over a year old but here is the link to download the panel.

  6. Ok, this is an old post (I know) but I’m using an old version of flash (flash 8). I’d like to thank you for your post and this has easily saved me a couple hours. I know little about flash but I am making some English software for children. I first made the software in Smart Notebook….but only high end schools would have this so I decided to remake it in flash. Copying everything over has taken over a week and I started to go through each copied file (15 themes with over 200 bmps each). I got halfway through the 3rd theme and got to thinking that there has to be an easier way. I stumbled across this post and you have saved me SOOO much time. Thanks!
